My kids are going to be scarred for life!

How many of us have been there? Your kids are driving you crazy. They’re arguing, smacking each other, and not listening. You’ve got to go to the store, and rather than controlling themselves, they ratchet up the bad behavior. You come unglued, you say things you regret, and now your kiddos think you’re an awful parent—and they even tell you as much. There are a few ways you can handle this. You can get defensive and blame your kids for your bad behavior. You can ignore it and act like it didn’t happen, risking looking like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Or, you can apologize. James instructs us to confess our sins to one another—out of the ashes of failure, a valuable life lesson.
